1-0 up HT... pretty good, we deserve to be 2 or 3 up

It's been a decent performance so far. Individually players are doing well, and there signs of good teamwork too.

El Moony's doing well on left wing, showing decent pace, and Van Hermit is overlapping well & getting back when needed.

On the other wing, Disco is often beating 2 & 3 men well, although these Jenga Blades are pretty lightweight & show us far more respect than we can expect from next week!

Bobby is getting forward at times leaving JCB to cover and for my money he's better in miffi than last reason, but still too many gaps in his game... can't or won't shoot, struggles with reading the game & intelligent passing.

Macken is clever as always, but looks a bit short of pace. Hume doesn't look sharp at all, probably needs 2 or 3 more weeks.

Can't report on Steele as he's been a spectator. He's even taken a throw-in, if that tells you how rarely the ball's been in our half. Their one attack of note exposed Moore's lack of pace to leave them 1 on 1, but he recovered well as their striker dallied and took the ball off his toes.

A goal-mouth scramble led to a tap-in for Souza at the far post with just about the last kick of the half.

This isn't much of a test. We are being allowed to play, but this sort of practice will be useful

I think the players are looking good because the opposition is very poor. We should really be more than one up against a team this poor.

    RE: agreed

we're struggling to break them down, due to sheer numbers they have back rather than quality of defenders.

We can only play the opposition put in front of us though, poor as it is. They know it, which is why they've parked the team bus in front of the goal.

If our strikers need to be much sharper by next week.
