Our average away attendance so far this season, behind just Coventry (1,480) and dem blades (1,604). However, they've had five away games to our four, and we're taking around 2,500 to Donny on Saturday. Cracking support, lads and lasses. Bradford have just under 19,000 season ticket holders, they're averaging 1,236 away. This isn't a willy waving thread. It's a 'well done and be proud' thread. A decade of disappointment, losing more than 70% of our away games and yet our away turnout is commendable. Daft basterds. You Reds.
Be careful, the Pikeys aren't happy with our **** waving. "Now, we get slightly higher attendances" http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=254342.0 14/15 - BFC 9,768 DRFC 6,807 = 2,961 more 13/14 - 11,557 - 9,041 = + 2,516 12/13 - 10,207 - 7,239 = + 2,968 (different league) 11/12 - 10,332 - 9,341 = + 991 10/11 - 11,855 - 10,258 = + 1,597 09/10 - 12,964 - 10,922 = + 2,042 08/09 - 13,189 - 11,964 = + 1,225 Aye it seems only recently we've been getting bigger crowds... I could go back the previous 25 seasons and it'll get more embarrassing for them, I've included their recent glory years reaching the dizzy heights of the championship. I think 1969 was the last time they had bigger crowds and that was only by 600. How many times have they finished above us in the past 25 years? 3/4 tops? Deluded.
Blunts have had away games at Swindon, Gillingham and Peterborough on a Tuesday night though. But then they should be taking more everywhere because they have much higher home gates than anyone else in the division. If we carry on edging our way up the table it'll be a season to remember following the reds away from home. Only slightly poor following so far was at Rochdale, and even then it was four figures. Can't wait for Saturday.
They've completely wiped the 80's/90's/00's from their memories. The most ironic thing about that forum is their "banter" about us being inbred, being gypsies and all that, half their population are related.
I'm apparently being nice on their forum and nasty on here. Strange. I've only posted on their forum about three times this year and been my normal self. I've called them tinpot on here, that's me being myself too. Being a lovely person would be going on there and calling em tinpot.... Ive nowt against em, the most irrelevant Yorkshire club to me, can't see them as rivals no matter how hard I try. They're Doncaster Rovers, it'd be like Derby supporters worrying about Burton. I do hope we beat them though, because three points is up for grabs. I promise not to go on their forum and call em tinpot.
We are their cup final, make no mistake about it. I dont know any Barnsley fan other than the ones from donny who give a **** about them. I personally cant ****ing stand them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My mate from Tickhill is a massive Barnsley fan and he says the hatred they have for Barnsley is hilarious! Im in the same boat as many on here though, i couldnt give a rats arse about them and never will. I thought Rotherham was tinpot, but **** me, compared to Doncaster theyre Athletico Madrid.
We are all they ever go on about. They seem to be banging on about 'the pitmans derby' these day but I just keep saying ive never heard of it and tell them that no barnsley fan see's this as a big derby. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The peg sellers should be kissing our arses to be fair. Thanks to our away support they might actually get a crowd over 7,500. I can see them having a gate below 4,000 before the end of the year.
I remember last season after the Chesterfield defeat away. Donny had won and a pikey rang p+g saying not long till the 'pitman derby' can't wait gloating. It was least a month away, they love it big game to them pikeys.
Yeah that's why for a fairer assessment I like when you see tables of the percentage of your average home league crowd that you average away. I think it's usually Oldham Athletic that take the biggest percentage of their average home gate to away matches. Shocking home gates but usually take four figures to most places.
Averaging 800 (Oldham) this season, helped by taking just under 2,000 to Bury next door. They, like Donny have recently, lost half their fanbase over the last ten to fifteen years. FTR, Donny averaging 623 so far this season, and that's having already been to the Sty in S2.
Away support for the entire division so far if anyone's interested. Red means a weekday night game. Open it in a new tab to make it bigger.
