There was talk of a couple of worldy saves from Butland. . . but you may well be right.

Whatever is happening at the back though, 1 shot on target in a whole match (that came in the 93rd when the game was lost) is a pretty sorry statistic . . . .

It is I suppose on the context of the season of far but in the context of the game we were in it before the first goal and with their record that's not d imo

93rd minute though. Come on! Shows our 'never say die' attitude. Flickertime. You reds!

Doesn't matter they still won, still kept a clean sheet and managed to take a couple of their few chances.

Middlesbrough were no better against them last weekend in the same fixture. 2-0. One goal a penalty. Boro rarely got into their half.

    Perspective.

But why does that mean we should be happy with 1 shot on target this week , sorry mate I fail to see any significance in that?
I never thought we would win, but being happy with losing just because Middlesboro lost 2-0 last week does not make any sense to me! But of course I should not be saying anything that may be taken as though I was talking about a match I was not at, so you can ignore all of the above !

I'm not happy, and neither am I saying you should be, or anyone else.

I referred to Boro because I had a vested interest in that match last weekend, as you are aware, and because they are our next opponents.

Perspective. I'm basically saying that we both (us and Boro) fared very very similarly against QPR in the same fixture. Which gives me reason enough to assume that we're capable of turning them over on the 19th.

I hope so anyway. Because I'm straight from that game to r old boys 50th birthday party and it would be nice to celebrate the old basterds big day with a win/10 pints. :)

You seem to be forgetting that it was one shot on target against a team that has kept a clean sheet for the past 8 games in a row. I don't think that's all down to their goalie, clearly their defence is top notch! What we need to see is how many shots on target other teams have had against them.

OK just checked, couldn't click on match report for Swindon, but for the other matches QPR have had this season, in chronological order:

    leeds 4
    birmingham 1
    brighton 1
    yeovil 1
    boro 4
    barnsley 1

So it's not as if everyone else has been firing them at them all season and we were particularly crap, as people who keep quoting the one shot on target seem to be making out.

It seems Boro had 4 times as many shots as we did against QPR. I think we will beat Boro and go on a bit of a run. The players we have are capable of it apparently, so it is down the the manager to get the best out of them. He did it last year , so no reason he cant this. Unless he really believed the pre season stuff about him being the new Fergie !!

PS, I hope your dad has a good birthday mate.

Just aving a few pints in London after game now , we played a good solid team , they remind me of Cardiff and how they played last season . Thought we coped well first half , and had a few chances to break away but passes went astray , we didn't play very positive as I had hoped we would , and all our forwards looked off it today . Defensively we played well , but I couldn't see us not conceding eventually

The 4 shots were nothing of note. And QPR completely dominated them without converting various chances.

Boro were brilliant today, but still struggled to defend and could have conceded a few more on another day.

I'm expecting a high scoring affair against them, pal. Hopefully in our favour.

The BBC are worse than the chronicle. We had more than one shot on target particularly second half. Their second goal flattened us, until then we were having a right go at them for equaliser The trouble with multi million pound teams they play premiership football. They string the ball out and across the field and with a defence like theirs it is hard for our midfield to get forward to support the front lads, for having to defend. We now have some lesser teams to play and let's see where we are at Christmas, off the bottom I would think
