You can debate long and hard as to why only 10,000 home fans turned up yesterday but the fact is Barnsley is a poor town. A lot of people have forked out money that they can ill afford to make the Wembley trip. As regulars we cannot understand why they would do that for one game and not support the team in important league games. 'Floating' supporters only turn up for the glory games and then disappear. I'll tell you another fact too. Season ticket sales will be down as a result of Wembley also. If we take the dreaded drop then we'll be looking at crowds of 7500 maximum come August. Personally I can't even think about Wembley at the moment, Burnley away is more important in my eyes.
Got To Hand It To Fans Of The Big Four They must have loads of time off and spend plenty of cash to watch them in Europe all the time, regular trips to finals etc.
RE: Got To Hand It To Fans Of The Big Four they come from all over the country. Not just a small catchments area. Apart from some wierdo supporters. Barnsley supporters generally come from Barnsley Borough and surrounding boroughs.
RE: Got To Hand It To Fans Of The Big Four It's not the same fans at each game though is it. I think you'll find that is simply down to the fact that there are more of them - too many for the stadium capacity even. So if 10,000 fans decide that they can't afford one particular game, another 10,000 take the opportunity to attend a game. Simple really.
