Shows that reducing prices doesn't have that big an effect to make up the revenue in additional ticket sales.

    It shows that poor advertisement

coupled with pre christmas & shitty weather are major hurdles to getting bums on seats.

    In fact.

I can understand why this match was chosen, but in a way, I can see that many other to support the Trust, as indeed do all the committeee members.

I truly wish we could get the 'want away' fans back down to Oakwell, but it is proving very difficult.

    It should have been £10

Like the Leicester match last year. When we sold out the home end.

Yep - the club could have lost even more money!

Last home game of season and chance to secure place in division had nowt to do with that then last season!

    One of the problems is

that when Barnsley have been on Sky they haven't played very well so people think "I'm not paying to go and watch them".

Also I know the weather was bad yesterday but again after the hype of "You want to get to Oakwell as the football is fantastic/awesome etc.," the performance (from both teams) apparently wasn't good enough to capture those extras who did go down.

If our team reach the playoffs or manage to do the unthinkable, then people will come down and get behind the team and hopefully will stay regardless of what happens after that.

We got far more for the Leicester game

Than we got for the Huddersfield play off game. In fact, it's the most Barnsley fans we've had in the ground since we were in the Premiership.

RE: We got far more for the Leicester game

Yes, but because the game meant so much got people in, no doubt coupled with lower prices as well.

A mid-season game isn't going to have the same effect

    No it doesnt

It shows that when a company has a special offer on but fails to advertise the offer then not many people will take it up because we arent all psychic

She is only a part time fan as well

She should go more often - never seen us lose she keeps telling us :)

    20% up on normal

We've been getting about 8,500 home fans plus the away fans of late. Palace only brought a couple of 100 leaving 10,000+ home fans. Pretty good considering the weather, Christmas, lack of advertising, not that cheap anyway scenario. I know at least 3 people who would have gone down at a tenner but because of the £15 decided not to bother.
