The FA has always had a shocking history of inconsistency when dishing out bans. Only giving Ben Thatcher an 8 game ban when he tried tried his best to end Pedro Mendes's career, and then giving Joey Barton 12 games for the Handbags at Man City a couple of season ago is a prime example. *I'm not say Barton should have got a lesser Ban, but Thatcher should have been done in football after that challenge. Don't even get me started on them doing nothing about the Morgan/Hume incident!! The disciplinary system isn't fit for purpose
The FA are a joke from top to bottom, whether it be the disciplinary structure, the England team or whatever, absolute shambles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You may often see different penalties for the same crime. Doesn't mean to say they are wrong. Life is generally grey and not black and white.
Excellent. Sectarianism, from any side, has no place in football in the 21st Century. Hopefully, the next time racism or homophobia rear their ugly heads, the authorities will crack down on them just as hard, too. Ignorance & bigotry ought to be shown zero tolerance, whoever spouts the despicable bile. If it upsets the apologists for this poison, good.
Absolutely spot on Kev. This is my point about the FA. I won't hold my breath, especially if the player in the dock is a high profile player or god forbid the England captain.
I hope you're proved wrong with your assessment of the FA, Mario my old friend, but I fear you won't be.
Let's extend this to the crowds too. Especially the fella who sits three rows down from me spouting homophobic guff from time to time; my daughter always says 'Dad, please don't say anything'. So far I've obliged.
He is but two wrongs don't make a right and sectarian bigotry shouldn't be tolerated no matter which side of the divide it comes from.
Absolutely spot on my friend. Here in Scotland sectarianism is rife. Unfortunately it is possibly tolerated more than in England hence the trouble with Rangers and Celtic. Makes me sick to be a Scot.
