10 year old set to get an ASBO

I've even been onparenting courses but Lewis is just getting worse and worse.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"Lastweek he attacked his grandmother with a knife, I'm fed up to the backteeth with him. A child like that should be tucked up in bed at nightand going to school every day but he runs off.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"He has threatened me and other relatives with a knife, damaged property and cars and he is abusive all the time.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"He has damaged our home and abuses people both young and old. We've caught him drinking and smoking at his age.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"He'salways climbing out of the bedroom window and we've even caught himsmoking what he calls 'wacky baccy'. He swears and loses his temper tooeasily.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"Heis just sleeping rough and hanging around and getting up to anythingwith older lads. I've approached the social services and begged them totake care of Lewis so I can have a break.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"I know some people will accuse us of being bad parents but we literally have tried everything.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"I feel guilty because I feel as though it is me to blame. I tried to give Lewis a good upbringing."</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">Lewis, who has a well-behaved sister, Kelly, 12, insists he knows he's doing wrong but can't help it.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">The youngster said: "It's like I have got a devil and an angel inside me.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">"Ican't stop doing stuff to my mum even though I know it is horrible. Acouple of days later I'll say sorry and give her a hug. When I hear hercrying I feel like killing myself. But it's like I'm under a spell,it's only me that can stop it when I'm older."</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">Lewisadmitted he smokes cannabis and plays truant. He added: "I don't likeschool, I like playing with my mates. It started a few years ago. I gotin with older people and now I can't stop."</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">Oneneighbour near the thug's home in Barnsley, South Yorks, said: "Helooks all angelic, but he is evil. The little lad walks aroundthreatening people with a knife."</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">Barnsley council have planned a summit meeting to decide whether to apply for an Asbo.</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">NeighbourhoodSafety Unit manager Paul Brannan said: "We must consider the welfare ofthe community and the welfare of the family, and Lewis in particular."</p><p align="left" class="add-linkout">rory.smith@mirror.co.uk</p>

Bad parenting

Be interesting to see the diet he's been on - probably eats junk food full of E numbers....did you see the Jamie Oliver's School Dinners programme when he changed the diet of a badly behaved kid and within a week there was a marked improvement - one meal of junk food and the kid was up the wall again!

I'm just wondering what good an ASBO will do....how do they enforce it? It won't stop him.

up here they have the picture of a 16 yr old kid with an asbo on every bus

his parents weren't happy saying he'll never get a job. employers shoudl know who they are employing and he wunt get a job if he disclosed his crim record anyway (it's a long one)

Well, of course you can stinkpalm, that goes without saying. In terms of pain, it's a banking/nettle limit, that's all. Steep banking, obviously. With or without grass.

yup, drown some sense into him.

 

They ought to take that lad away from his parents and ship him off to the otherside of the country to somewhere rural where they can manage his diet, make sure he gets exercise, limit the time he spends sat on his arse in front of his playstation eating garbage, and manage the kind of people he associates with. Some of it wil be him, some of it will be his parents not doing the right things, some will be his mates and the people he is trying to impress, some of it will be diet (including the drugs), some of it will be his education and his understanding of himself and what he wants. It's not an easy one, but it's a terrible thing to read about.
