But look at the difference now and 30 years ago. The gap between divisions is wider now than it ever was. Clarke was a gamble and it paid off. We were in the 4th division, and really had nothing to lose.
Only a very small 'deluded' minority think Mick would come and succeed with the budget Hill has to work with. We already have the best man for the job.
wow, you've waited 10 years to say i told you so !! From all reports Mick doesn't want the job or wouldn't do the job with the budget we have.... i actually havent ever heard him say as such though so you never know... for me Keith is doing all we can expect
Any why on earth would he - if he fails at Barnsley then he may never work again - he'll have gone from a premier league manager to one who has been sacked from a sinking championship side in around a year. Who'd want him after that?. He will obviously know this is the real danger - he wouldn't touch it with a barge pole if he's got any ambition left.
