Who played for 55 minutes of the game (he was playing in Areean's #16 shirt!). Didn't do owt mind, other than puff and blow (not helped by the 12 pints last night and the ***-break at half-time) but he made the effort and I had to smile when the chap sat behind me said during the 2nd half 'De Zeeuw has really gone downhill since he left us, hasn't he?'!! While I'm handing out plaudits - top marks also to the Supporters Trust. I'm not their greatest fan by any stretch of the imagination, but they did a sterling job in organising this afternoon's event, attended by approximately 2,400 fans. Also, top marks to Super-Johnnie Hendrie who chatted to everybody in the Exec Suite afterwards and insisted on shaking everybody's hand before he left, ditto to Stumpy, Ashley, Adie, Mattie and Redders who happily signed autographs and posed for photographs - and to the Bradford lads including Chris Withe and Terry Dolan who were approachable and sociable. Finally, whilst realising it was only an easy-going friendly game - it was nice to see the Reds playing with width again and considering most of them hadn't been together for almost 10 years, the intuitive play was a delight to watch. Seeing Redders pick up the ball and play it out wide to Thommo without even looking, or Adie pinging a cross-field ball from defence out to Nicky Eaden on the flank brought back happy memories. Not to mention Wilko who looked absolutely NO different than when he led our strike force - although I have to say Ooh Gerry Gerry looked a damned sight slimmer than when he used to grace the Oakwell turf!! Tim - watch and learn!
The guy is completely knackered now he says Did well to last so long in the old Paul Merson diet. Do you think it's worth Davey having a look at him for next season
Aye well done Tim! The London Tykes will be looking forward to the DVD to see if your efforts were worth their sponsorship money
Aye, Tim worked hard and might've actually scored if the other Reds' fan hadn't 'intervened' just as he was about to head the ball goalwards. Is his surname Rogers? That's what I was calling him on the DVD commentary anyway! Apologies if I got it wrong - I didn't have a proper team sheet and I only realised Ashley Ward was playing when he was substituted just before half-time.
Nah then Was it thee summat about an "a little too much weight on that ball by Spartacus who himself is overweight"?? harsh but fair
RE: Nah then I knew tha'd find art abart that! Congrats to you all - you all looked the part today. It's a lot harder than the 5 A side that I'm reduced to these days.

Think he got around 3 touches Acton - plus he ran around a bit with his hand in the air! Expecting team mates to thread 30-yard passes to him of course! Seriously though - full marks to Tim for having the bottle to turn out, plus he tried to blag Stuart McCall's shirt off him at the final whistle - without success. Not sure what Jack made of it all, mind! As for Gerry* - have the London Tykes found him yet? Or is he still sat in Row P at the Hawthorns? *Not Gerry Taggart that is - but the t'owd Gerry we all know and love and who went awol around half-time yesterday and missed the train back! ... and yes, Gerry T did look slimmer than Tim!
Well, well, he did himself proud! Bloody hell - it's a big pitch and he got rahnd it!
Well done and what a great day out.

RE: Well, well, he did himself proud! I might be fat overweight and drink and smoke too much but all I care is that I've been on the pitch with my hero's and I've managed to raise several hundred pounds for Dickie's Charity!! What a day!!!!
