<div class="ds-headline" id="ds-headline">17,000 set for Reds play-off</div><div class="ds-headline"></div><div class="ds-firstpara" id="ds-firstpara">BARNSLEY'S box office bonanza continued today and the gate for tomorrow's play-off semi-final with Huddersfield Town is being forecast at over 17,000. </div><div class="va-bodytext" id="va-bodytext">Oakwell marketing manager Darren Hayes said that Huddersfield were expected to take up their full 6,000 allowance with over 11,000 more fans ready to back Barnsley's promotion bid. "I would think there will be at least 17,000. It's going to be a bumper crowd and could be around 20,000," he said. Manager Andy Ritchie added: "The crowd showed how important they can be on Saturday, I don't think they stopped signing all the way through." Barnsley snapped up all 2,500 tickets available at Walsall on Saturday and they cheered the team onto a 2-1 victory. "When the team's not doing so well, it's maybe more important that they're even more vociferous in backing us," Ritchie reckoned. "They certainly did that on Saturday, they were the 12th man." Queues snaked around Oakwell yesterday and box office staff manned turnstiles as supporters panic bought tickets. Although Huddersfield fans will fill the North Stand, Oakwell has a 23,186 capacity and is unlikely to sell out. Barnsley season ticket holders have until kick-off tomorrow to buy their usual seats. Turnstiles were selling other tickets up until 8.10pm yesterday evening with admin staff working into the night. Tickets are available for sale today up until 8pm and 6pm tomorrow. Previous best crowd for this season came with the visit of Doncaster Rovers. 12,002 watched that game. The last time a crowd approaching 20,00 were at Oakwell was in February 2005 for the League One game with Sheffield Wednesday. 19,659 turned up for that. Barnsley have been given 4,000 ticket for the second leg on Monday at Huddersfield. They are being offered to Oakwell season ticket holders first. Barnsley defender Matt Carbon is looking likely to miss both legs of the play-off. His groin injury broke down again late last week and he has been ruled out of the match tomorrow. His chances of being fit for Monday are also reckoned to be slender. Barnsley will have skipper Paul Reid back from suspension for the play-offs and striker Paul Hayes trained yesterday, having missed the match at Walsall also with a groin injury.</div><div class="va-date" id="va-date">10 May 2006</div><div class="left"><div class="inactive">« Previous Page</div></div><div class="right"><div class="inactive">Next »</div></div><div class="centre">Page 1 of 1 </div><br clear="all" />
