The Reds lost me a tenner today. Should they have won? I never caught the match, anyone want to tell me how it went?
RE: lucky to draw by the sound of things We keep on about keeping the accadamy but what use is it,it asn't produced a good youngster all the time its been going including those who have played today,not a good one among them.

I agree ...... If we are going to keep it , get someone in to run who knows how to take a young kid and turn him into a professional player.
Is this a wind up? Flinders, Kay, Austin, Williams, Tonge all came through the acadamy and generally seem to be doing OK (OK so there is wroe as well) - like all players they have their off games but the problem today was missing McPail and possibly Reid
I appreciate they are in the team , however for what its cost to produce those players, do you think we could have signed better from elsewhere????
RE: Do you want is shut then ?? Think Academy is being run on the cheap. I think the Man Utd guy who criticised the academy was correct. The quality of personnel over the years has slowly detoriated.
If the likes of Hayes cost £175K then No Dont forget we sold Rory for £80K as well. Even if we didnt have the Academy we would need something or are you suggesting we dont have a youth policy at all? I cant believe you are so we need to spend some money on a youth coach and players - its just how much extra acadamy staus costs (and I dont know how much that is)
The length of time its been up and running It has produced nothing exceptional despite having all the top-end facilities. I am all for producing our own players but to me what we have in place obviously isnt working.
tonge is one of the best young players at the club austin is a capable player at this level and so is kay when he uses his brain. flinders is also an england keeper.</p> the acadamy does work it just isnt been run correctly</p>
