Should take 8hr40mins at 3mph. Hoping to get to pub 3-4 miles out by 12 noon. Refreshments then steady final walk to ground.

if it were going to take 12 hours, we'd miss 30mins of first half.

I reckon we'll be faster than 3mph though... last time I'm pretty sure we yomped it at a rate of more like 4mph.

That stopping in Dronfield business.....I can see a few sitting down for a beer & not getting up again. Taxiiiiii !

4mph is just short of jogging

26 miles is a marathon length... are you gonna jog some of it.. remember there will be older folk... younger kids and maybe even some elderly ones ... to set out 12 hours is not a bad idea actually

26 miles a day is the pace Napoleon marched his troops to Moscow in. 1812 # uselessbitofinformation

I'm just basing it on last time. That said, we didn't stop after the brief stop at Hallam FM. We just kept going. Even when people nipped in and out of shops, (or bushes for a wee), the main party just plodded on.

From memory, the minute we stopped walking and got to the pub in Chesterfield, the aches and pains kicked in, which is why I think any pub stop needs to be kept brief, so we can get the job done.

Think we should have an hour at least! The last 5 miles will go a lot quicker with 3 pints of Acorn down my neck, aches or no aches! Plus we might as well aim to get to ground half hour before kick off as the away pub looks like a shitehole
