Not had much luck in the games I've seen although last night could have been a turning point.

All in all I think we've done alright up to now considering the opposition. Cardiff are top and beating all comers yet we weren't disgraced, Preston are 2nd & we should have had a point with 10 men but for a goalkeeping gaff. Wolves are 4th - beat them, Burnley are 5th - leading 2-0 and tossed it away, Plymouth 6th - cracking game and good point, Luton are 7th - should have won, would have settled for a draw but were robbed of a point in last minute by a goalkeeping gaff, Southampton 9th - deserved better than a draw. Of the teams at the lower end we've played - we beat Hull and Colchester away and should have beaten the Pigs with 10 men.

Stoke have just beaten Leeds 4-0 and we pulled back from 2-0 down and could have won it. The only real bad result was Norwich away and again we played with 10-men but went all out for the win which backfired on us.

We've also played 25% of the games with 10 men for long periods.

I think as long as the confidence holds we should start to pick up a few points once we play teams from the mid-table and lower reaches.

The biggest threat is suspensiosn and injuries, for example, who would replace Howard?

i reckon its because the team are growing together

    understanding etc.

for me, Ritchie has the potential to be a better manager than Wilson and I am confident that if we manage to stop up, we will have a pretty good season next season.

We really could two with 2/3 new faces - Ritchie obviously takes a lot of time looking at who will fit in etc and money is clearly tight - hence the difficulty in bringing people in

It doesn't end today, hypothetical question.

    Lets stick to the facts.

    5 games since a win!

1 game since a defeat. Honestly, what did you go into this season expecting?

i agree - we've been naive in a few games

but we are a pretty young and inexperienced side, as i said, growing together. we're not in the drop zone and if the season finished tomorrow i would be more than happy with our position

    What should we be doing?

I am pretty happy that we are trying to play football for the first time in 5 years. We have had some tough breaks this season , hopefully with Plymouth hitting post twice in last 5 mins last night things might be turning for us.

Devaney looked off the pace last night , maybe he could do with a break.

Richards goal masked another masterclass in how not to control the ball.

Wright and Nardiello only had 10 mins but they didnt look that threatening.

    It's fairly obvious that

we need some backup, certainly for the likes of Howard and Togwell and probably Devaney and McIndoe. But I feel we will get some faces in and in time to stave off the threat of relegation.

It's not going to be easy, but at least I've seen one side worse than us....

    Ignore spazmo Joe.

He's not got a fecking clue what he's on about.
He's like the bloke at the bar in the Fast Show who changes his mind depending upon what other people think.

Hypothetically - if the season finished today I'd be straight out on the lash.

"Please, Mr Shepherd - give Ritchie a new contract before someone else gets him".
"If I'm right about Ritchie - then we're going down".

Maybe he's got multiple personality syndrome?
If he has - both personalities are right w4nkers.

    Tommy Wrong

To say that Nardiello didn't look good against Plymouthis fair, compared to his form at times in the last few seasons he was'nt sharp, besides, he's just come back from injury. However, Tommy Wright is consistently fetched on with 10 or 20 to go and consistently fails to impress, he didn't look good, but when has he? He is certainly not a player that can change a game when brought on at the end and i saw him start v. MK Dons and while Coulson looked very promising Wright looked poor even against league 2 opposition.
