Don Rowing would like us to get involved in making the club's 125 year anniversary next year a success. So put your thinking caps on as I'm going to be asking for your ideas on what sorts of things you would like to see as part of the commemoration. The club are setting up a committee to organise this and have asked me to represent you on it. More info will follow soon.
A limited edition shirt, and loads of tat like a Royal Wedding, can we get some tea towels in at the club shop, l love tea towels and l would buy two if they have a reds badge on.
Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand In honour of the great man that set up our football club 125 years ago. The name wouldn't just be for next season, but forever, although the naming ceremony could take place at the first home game of next season. Good way to kick the season off that. Naming a bar after the man isn't appropriate at all as he believed in a teetotal lifestyle.
Have the home kit in the colours of the 1912 cup winning team and the away kit being the original colours from 1887. Both events could then be commemorated at the same time. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Barnsley/Barnsley.htm
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand what about a 'thereev' stand to honour the greatest forumite of 'em all.
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand + 1 for Jays suggestion of the stand naming and also for JLWBigLil's kit idea. th kit should be totally different from our normal not just a badge stating 125yrs on it - didnt we play in chocolate to begin with? just a thought though - can teams alter their home colours easily or is it just the away shirts?
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand £125 season ticket. £12.50 pay on the gate. All season.
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand Agreed with the season ticket l've stated this before £125 for the 125 anniversary, its only the way of increasing our crowds in the long term, take a look at Huddersfield from 9k to 13k without no promotions and in League 1 and the tickets have been back to normal price for the past few seasons, get them hooked again.
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand Sounds a fair idea, but, to get the money that we get in season tickets this season we gonna be looking having to get around 15K. My MD at work is a Huddersfield fan and he told me that in the long run they actually made a big loss from this. Their owners have far more money than our Paddy to withstand that kind of loss
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand They sold 17k season tickets the year they did it, and the season before they had around 7-8k season ticket holders. Since that ST promotion they have had over 11,000 ST holders every season so l'd guess they have now made quite a lot of money having attracted the extra 4 thousand or so season ticket holders that are now paying full price. They may have lost slightly in the first year with them only being £100 an ST but since that promotion they have made a healthy profit. I also reckon with the marketing and a good season this year we could hit 13-15k in sales at that price.
Re: Name one of the stands the Reverend Tiverton Preedy Stand No way will we get that amount. People will just keep finding excuses, as per Saturday
Great Idea BigLil! Or is it Laura logging on as her dad again. Just seems such an intelligent and original idea!!
