14 days left of the transfer window, what Davey does in these 14 days will spell out the rest of our season. If JCR goes and i think he will then we need 3 strikers and a QUALITY proven creative midfielder. Failure to deliver these players will see us down and him out of a job.

The fact that he hasn't had strikers lined up to join on the 1st Jan is shocking, all this looking for players now is very unproffesional and leads me to believe that whoever he signs now will be a desperate bid and not someone we have had watched over time to make sure he is good enough.

i think we'd all agree, not to have already sorted before the window

who you want is astoundingly bad management

Maybe he has identified strikers but the money isn't there ?

also at the start of the season everyone said that Da Silva was the midfielder we needed.

The time for scouting is October/November time, then your targets are in place for January 1st.
It's too late for scouting now. All we'll end up with are panic signings who he'll hardly have watched who will be about as good as the other crap he's brought in i.e. Rigters El Manure etc.

He had highlighted who he wanted

And he wanted more money then we're willing to pay. Fair play to the club on that one

What strikers though, league 2 players and a spaniard that we have been guessing about on this board. If we pay peanuts we get monkeys ala Odejaye and Rigters, we have 14 days to bring in quality ill be amazed if we do.

He identified 1 league 2 striker who we cant offer enough money to join us, thats 1 player from the bottom tier of english football. And he was 5ft 5 not the target man we need

    So hows that davey's fault

If your saying we are spending peanuts? Or is he funding it out of his own pocket making it his fault?

Its Daveys fault that we have the worst strike force in the league, 1 striker of championship quality and he is injured.

What other 3 strikers could he have got for £400k?

And Hume being injured is hardly his fault

If we offered KP 20 grand a week at the start of the season, sold Bri for £500,000 and probably get over a million for JCR then we should be able to afford someone with a bit of quality about them

his signing of forwards has been poor

... but it's not his fault our proven championshipgoal scorer isn't available is it ?

I didn't mean it was his fault Humes injured i meant it his fault that we have no other options in that department. Hume has been injured for ages, Odejaye has been **** from day 1 and yet on the 1st Jan we had no-one ready to come in.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

    Exactly.

He's on scouting missions now. He should have had a shopping list in long before the start of the transfer window and we should have been in negotiations the second we were allowed. Maybe we were, but it doesn't come across like that. I get the feeling it'll end up with that awful disheartened feeling after waiting all night on transfer deadline day only for us to end up loaning a reserve right back from Hull who chose us over Grimsby.

Steve Howards a old fashioned target man that could have done a job this season, Simon Cox (dont think he is a target man) at Swindon has had rave reviews and Rickie Lambert at Bristol Rovers. Just 1 one these players would have strengthened our front line. He has chosen his scouts so its there job to identify targets here and abroad, all this should have been done months ago not now at last minute.

Didn't he turn down a premiership team this week?

    Stoke wasn't it?
