In this period of 31 days we play 6 games. One is the derby against the blunts and the other 5 are all against teams who are currently within 5 points of us in the table. As a minimum we must win the three home games against Blackpool, palace and Forest and hope for just one draw from the away games. As others have said no results seem to be going for us at the moment. Usually by this stage of the season you can rely on promotion/playoff chasing teams to beat the relegation threatened teams (as Cardiff have done to us tonight) but on Saturday we got a good result against a mid table team and you turn on live 5 when you get back to the car to find that 4 of the top 6 have all been beaten by relegation threatened teams. That shouldn't happen and all of a sudden you're thinking thank f**k we won. Same again tonight. It least two from Swansea, Ipswich and Preston should have won their games tonight. I think we will stay up and I think we'll do it by beating the teams around us between 14th March and the 11th April. Come 5pm on the 11th we'll know if we're up or down. P.S With all the results going against us everybody but £5 on Southampton, Donny, Palace, Derby, Forest and Plymouth on Saturday.
Top post! Made me abit more confident now. 3 winable games all at home and we normally always get an unexpected result. I reckon we'll beat the Blunts.
Plenty of winnable games to come. You can add Swansea at home too, and by the end of the season Coventry and Plymouth could be well safe and on holiday, so they could be games we can get something from. Derby away isn't unwinnable. No panic, yet.
RE: you're forgetting the 2x4 factor... The poorer sides come to Oakwell and stick 2 banks of 4 behind the ball. They look for a draw & hope to hit us on the break. We couldn't break down a shocking Charlton side for a win, so i don't think we'll break down many teams that come to us looking for 1 point & to stifle the game. I reckon we'll get 4 or 5 points from those 3 home games.
