I am subscribed to Barnsley World and listen to the away games I can't get to via the internet. I also listen to 1575 through an earphone whilst at home games - Season Ticket holder – and I will really miss this as listening to the commentary whilst watching the home games added considerably to my enjoyment.

Because I had a feeling 1575 might stop broadcasting at some point, I logged on to Barnsley World via my mobile broadband at a home game towards the end of last season and although it was as clear as listening on AM there was a delay (caused by buffering) between what happened on the pitch and the commentary… only perhaps 30/40 seconds but it drove me mad so I turned it off after 10 minutes and went back to my radio.

It’s a real shame that Barnsley FC is to lose something it had that was quite unique and I feel really sorry for the old people who wouldn’t know the different between the internet and Interpol who will no longer be able to listen to the home games.

If the problem is funding the station, I wonder how much more it costs to maintain the AM broadcast as well as the web broadcast? Maybe there is a commercial opportunity for someone here.

    I'm sure a few advert/jingles

    would cover costs.

I think there is more to it than that imo.

I think the removal of 1575 am will be regretted

And will be resumed shortly when the repercussions occur (doh) (doh)
