I agree, but it wont happen unless the people at Oakwell actually want things to get better.

You don't know for sure that we would get 12k and if we didn't we'd lose out financially in a big way. What they could do is say we will charge you the full rate but if we sell 10000 we will reduce the cost to £250 and if we got 14000 reduce them further to £191.20. Something along those lines anyway. Problem is we have too many stay away fans who have bought volumes 1 and 2 of '101 excuses why not to go and support your club'. And before I get dogs abuse I'm not talking about people who genuinely can't afford it.

How do clubs do it though? Do you have to pay the full price if you are one of the first 10000 and then get a refund once we meet the next landmark? Or do people just have to pledge to buy one? What happens if loads of people pledge and then don't follow it through? I can't get my head around how it would work in practice. Sounds a very risky policy to me.

At those prices would you encourage back our Premiership bandwagon? doubtful. £125, £150 and possibly £175 then maybe.

I think the only way would be to charge full rate until we reached each milestone then reimburse. I'm pretty sure another club are doing a similar scheme so maybe there is way that works and is easy to administer.

But doing that would mean people would still have to fork out what they can't afford and hope for a refund.

I suppose if Wath & West is willing to underwrite any shortfall it would be a goer

Who is underwriting the shortfall for the massive **** up that is increasing ticket prices to £30 a game causing the lowest attendances for years and surely a drop in revenue

shortfall? thats why the milestones are in place to cover for this. Why does everyone think we earn millions from the income from ST's now when a good percentage of the 7,500 tickets are the probably kids free ones? then there's the reduced Under 12, Juvenile and OAPs tickets, we'd be lucky if we get £1.5 million tops, 10,000 tickets at £150 and we've topped it.

I think season tickets for the anniversary year should be £100! If that doesn't the fans down to Oakwell, I will personally get my arse out on the town hall steps everyday for a month.

It worked at Huddersfield Town, and it worked at Bradford City, who despite struggling for crowds for years still get crowds of over 10,000 after their season ticket price cut, and they are two leagues below us and can't even beat AFC Wimbledon at home (attendance 10,255)

Yep, BCFC get more home fans against AFC Wimbledon in the bottom tier playing rubbish football than we get in the 2nd tier playing great football. And Bradford is properly on its arse, it makes Barnsley look like Las Vegas, so we can't just say " well the economy is f*ck*d so we can't expect decent crowds"

but that means some people could just turn up for 5 games say and the club would lose out on there pay on the gate money aswell as the 200 quid from normal st price.

So? Sell 15,000 season tickets and who cares if all fans come to every game? I am not saying that the price should be reduced every season, just on a one off basis to get as many fans as possible into oakwell to celebrate our 125 and the anniversary of the FA Cup win.

The aim is to increase the fan base, not to make more money for that one season. It'd be worth losing a bit of revenue if those new ST holders renewed the next season thereby increasing our ongoing revenues season on season
