    I remember it well. Our outside lav was 20 yards away. We had some old 'snow shoes', I've no idea how we acquired them, but it was great 'craic' walking on top of 4' drifts to get there.

    I have vague memories of it, between Highgate and Bolton on Dearne there was a flooded field which froze over and people were skating on it.

    I was born in 1963 so watched it. One thing hit me. The commentator said the cost of beefing up the power grid would be if split down for each household the same as.........four candles.
    I wonder if the original film was watched by a couple of comedians who found some inspiration. :rolleyes:

    I would have been six and a half but I have no recollection of it.
    But it was the winter which United covered Tannadice with that much sand to get a cup game on. Someone reported that it almost resembled the Sahara desert hence our fans being nick named the Arabs.

    I remember it well. The canal between Brampton and Wath froze near solid. And the field behind Wombwell High School (Now the mini golf course) became the Cresta Run and you could go down on a tin tea tray at lightning speed. Brilliant!

    I think the point he was making is that the M1 doesn't go to Birmingham as such, you've got about 30 miles of the M6 to navigate once you come off at Catthorpe
