No need to wait! Reading, Millwall and Leicester now await us. We can either accept it now or carry on fumbling about for a dozen more games - the outcome will be the same. Management team/players/Board all out of their depth. To carry on with the first two of those = we have thrown the towel in. Tonight was an embarrassment.
the fact that you have jumped straight onto the forum to make your point makes you as embarassing as what we have seen tonight, i hope yourself and therrev are pleased with yourself because most of us are gutted
And I quote: "Can someone please explain why we should now have struck gold and have hit on a management team who can miraculously turn lower league players into Championship contenders? Is the experience of the last five years totally lost on you? Let me make one thing absolutely clear. No-one, but no-one will be more delighted than me if Hillcroft prove to be the new Messiahs this coming season. But I'm afraid I can't shelve my experience of watching football, particularly Barnsley FC for the last 42 years. We have gone cheap/low cost one year before the conditions of our league demanded it. We are positioning ourselves to be a league lower when the rest catch up. We will surely, surely find it hard to regain our Championship status. I am predicting here and now that we will, by the evening of 1st October, have gained 8 points. Yes - 8 points. Replicated across the season, that will equate to 36 points, which will see us relegated. No doubt, if anyone responds at all, I will receive a torrent of abuse, as usual, for this post. Believe me brothers, if you can disagree with me without the bad-mouthing I will respect your views. I will respect your disagreement. No doubt many will complain that I am being NEGATIVE. As far as I am concerned, I am being REALISTIC. " Am I now pleased? No! The only thing I would take back is that 8 points looks optimistic at the moment.
and there it is the famous quote of an attention seeker "no one will be more delighted if..blah blah blah" we get it, we are crap at the moment and if things dont change quickly all the stick we gave to sheff utd last season is going to come back and bite us in the ass big style but to gloat on it, and yes that is what a lot of ppl we see it as is what i reffered to in my last post is indeed "embarrassing"
I don't see any gloating 1kpnut, only a typical Barnsley strength which is trying to find some humour in adversity. It has stood us in good stead for years in this town and it will help get us through this mess - along with PC waking up and smelling the coffee!
