Half today was best we've played in a league game all season, really chuffed for all reds fans who made trip today. Also thanks to LJ who came over and thanked the reds fans. Would like us to sign Oldham midfielder Kelly, would be a good addition for us. Might see if Mrs fancies a trip to Peterborough on Tuesday night
To be honest, I said the same last Saturday. I thought we looked a different class last week up to Vale scoring. But when we got to the 35th minute without scoring, I said to my brother, if we didn't score then, we'd get undone before half time. What happened, they went down the other end and scored with practically their first chance. I feared the same today, the game began to even out (by the sounds on player) after about 35 minutes. I thought, we need to score now. Luckily today we did, although it set up a nervy finish, more so when they scored, I was more confident of us actually picking up a point, because we scored first. That's got to be the first step, to take our changes when we get them. Surely the results will follow then.
We really should have been out of sight first half, god knows how Watkins managed to pick out the only part of the net that had a defender on the line. Second half we sat back a bit but even then Toney should have buried a free header (bar) and near enough a one on one (side netting). Excellent first half, solid performance overall and a long-awaited win. A bit more of the same from now on please.
