5th best team in League 1 promoted via play off lottery.

Safe this year due to Leeds' implosion and Alan Lee.

Now just get Brian Howard secured Mr Shepherd and we'll be right. Let's see what the Board are truly made of now.

    Some quality needed...

that means investment required....need to think beyond putting season tickets up...

    I think we need :

at least two new full backs, both sides
A new centre half, hopefully Nyatanga

    A new left winger.
An experienced central midfielder, I would like to see Kishishiev

    A new keeper.

    Tenner each placed on :

    Leicester win 2/1

    Hull win 7/4

    Leeds v Ipswich draw 13/5

So taking into account bets on Hull draw and Leeds win, made a slight profit. Bit disturbed that 3 bets of mine came in. Might start doing it regular....

    2 minutes from relegation?

With the way results have gone this weekend, had it not been for that Ipswich goal....

Do not mind prices going up

As long as we can see it invested in the squad. Brian Howard for example.

Should show us if Shepherd is cut out to be a Championship Football Club Chairman.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment to some degree I feel that we have achieved a points level that would stay up in most seasons. Therefore I think we should give credit to the team and the management.

The interesting thing during this summer will be how the public relations side is handled. I would hope the BFC website is not littered with ' Reds chase XXXX' only to find that we were never seriously likely to sign the player.

I'm guessing that the club will make a profit in the year to 31st May 2007 of say £1.5m which will bring the deficit down to approx the £3.5m mark. It must show to the board the importance of staying in this league and that whilst it is admirable that the finances are being controlled, I Think that they must be careful not to 'spoil the ship for a ha'pth of tar'. We have the chance to build a Championship club for the future not just for a couple of seasons.

We had a fella behind us with radio

given us an update on everything.

it wasn't over, yet a load of our fans were celebrating on the pitch - I remembered the Middlesborough home game when Brighton scored far too vividly at this point. Decided to walk out the ground and get Radio Sheff on, they stated that Barnsley's champagne was firmly back in the fridge, nearly had a heart attack as I presumed Leeds must have scored.

Not a day for the faint hearted !

A most unsatisfactory state of affairs.

Well, if Ritchie was lucky last year, as say his denigrators then Davey's been lucky this.

My own opinion is that in both seasons we've (at last) enjoyed a certain degree of luck, but as they say, the harder you work, the luckier you seem to be.

I'm still not convinced about Davey's approach to games - if the last few have proved owt to him it must be that if he sends his sides out to be positive, then we perform better than if he sends them out with a cautious approach.

That said, he's kept us up. Thank Christ and well done to him and O'Hanlon, Kidd etc, and of course the players. Now, will he get the same treatment Ritchie got ? Or will he backed even if things are a bit awry next year ? We have to stop pissing about chopping and changing managers. The board HAVE to invest in QUALITY for next year. That doesn't just mean transfer fees, it means securing the quality already at the club. Kay, Howard for example.

The fans have to respond too. If the 16,000 that turned up Saturday turned up to most home games then we'd be laughing. however, the fans need to be shown a certain degree of respect by The Club ( pitch invaders aside who should be shot), in terms of marketing, quality of product on and off the pitch, and the dialogue between the 2 parties.

Shepherd et al have a lot to prove.

    Wage structure

based on attendances. difficult to justify blowing most of your budget on one player. witboozebanart.
