I think 2 more wins will be enough for survival.Although theres been times when I've feared where the next points are coming from we seem to pull something out of the bag.I dont think we've had a 6 game winless run so heres hoping. In all fairness if we do lose our remaining 6 games we deserve to go down but I think we'll be ok.

imho our only hope is that Palace and Leicester have given up, Southend are ****, and that WBA will have a play off spot secured and so will ease off. Cos on current performances I can't see us battling a win from anywhere without the other teams assistance.

    RE: Saturday

I'd love to think so, but with Davey's tactics isolating Ferenczi, nullifying Howard's creativity and leaving central midfield never picking up a 2nd ball, I fear the worst.

We put a totally novice manager in charge of a relegation scrap. The Board have taken a massive gamble on this football clubs future.

    I agree

Its a bit painful really but just looking for positives and desperately hoping we can stay up somehow.

Someone has got to play nearer to Ferenczi.

Either play Howard just behind him or maybe put Ritchie Jones in for McCann or go back to 4-4-2.

I'm assuming McCann's inclusion is with defensive duties in mind - the goals against column seems to show that to be a nonsense. Togwell gets through a massive amount of work closing down and tackling - he needs a more mobile midfielder at the side of him. Davey doesn't want Howard in there because of his lack of defensive ability, so at least Jones must be worth a try - he's more mobile and quicker than McCann. Our midfield at the moment does nothing - it neither picks up loose balls from our defence, nor is it creating anything. Howard on the wing is a complete and utter waste.

This 4-3-3 formation of Davey's seems to confuse the players more than help them. I just pray we limp across the finishing line this season and have a major re-think for next. Mind, that may mean certain people at BFC admitting they may have got things wrong, so I won't hold my breath.

Had to laugh at Davey describing it as 4-3-3

I bet Istvan couldnt tell he had 2 other attacking players with him.

I think I would go 4-5-1 away, like at plymouth but go 4-4-2 at home and have a go at teams. No point repeating Saturday against Birmingham as it will probably go the same way.

Howard in the middle is a must, and I think Jones could help the team either by starting or from the bench.

But then we dont have access to all the dossiers so we know nowt

Completely agree. I found it amazing on Saturday that our five man midfield appeared to be outnumbered at times.

If Davey is going down the ultra defensive road then he should at least do it right. Excluding Togwell, there was absolutely no bite in the midfield.

That has been the biggest difference from the Rich Tea team for me. Ritchie encouraged Togwell and Howard to pick up the ball short and start play from their own half. Now Davey appears to prefer to bypass the midfield all together. If he continues to do that he needs to get his midfield supporting the big man and putting their foot in when needed.

It's just depressing to see the Howard's proven ability completely wasted.

    Bang on.

Don't think Kyel Reid knew what his job was.

If anyone can tell me how Davey's improved any aspect of our play I'll be glad to hear it.

Points per game arguments will be declared null & void merely because any claims what Ritchie may or may not have done are pure speculation.

Yeah, but we're pretty tight now aren't we?

What that...Derby scored with their first attack?

Hehe, think you're right - Davey's got them scared of their own shadows by the looks anyway.

    2 wins?

would be pushing it and leave it very tight. perhaps two and a draw at the least, the problem we have is if any teams get the same points as us then they will be above us on goal difference

    RE: 2 wins?

The way we are playing at the moment, with Davey's 5 in midfield and not picking up the second ball when it is thumped up field to Ferenczi will get us four more points. Start to attack teams and stop being so **** scared of them and get into their ribs, then we may get the points needed to stay up. But BarnsleyFC never do the basic things they always make it look so hard, that's why i think we will go down. (titanic)
