Should never let your heart rule your head on a bet, so i've done what no Yorkshire person should do and backed Lancashire at 3/1 only 3rd in the betting to win it all. Playing in the second semi should help them keep momentum from playing two games in a row. I like how they have so many spinners they use one over at a time with their plan of keep switching bowlers. Could go one better than last year. Pressure on Birmingham Bears with home advantage. Anyone else had a bet?
Excellent day cricket wise with Lancashire winning both matches easily enough and Scholes stopping Swaine from winning the Drakes thanks to Shepley
What with having to endure that ***** at Rochdale, my mate getting a parking ticket, and Lancashire winning the T20, it's been a crap day. Only silver lining my village club has won promotion to The Drakes Premiership the first time since I moved here 12 years ago. Some decent cricket coming our way next season & i live right next to the ground. I may put a plant pot on my head when going to watch.
Now now we should be happy to see a club win the Drakes without buying success like when Shepley won it the other year and Honley dominated for best part of a decade Even with Trent Boult's older spin bowler brother going back to Northern Districts ready for the Kiwi first class season they have deserved the title with guys like Brook, Carter and Drysdale.
Agreed. But 'Swaine deserved it last year. Best team won it this season. Best team won it last season.
Armitage Bridge mate, finished 2nd to Cawthorne. Big achievement for a small club normally in the bottom 2 divisions
Over 26 matches the best team always wins it. Also if people did a Drakes 11 over the past decade plenty of Swaine players like Cramner and Sadler would be in it, I can admit that Cawthorne and Armitage Bridge are two good additions. Better two new teams than a couple of yo-yo clubs.
