The answers are easy: Ken Bates has financial interest in all 3 companies. What is also interesting is that Elland Road is onwed and Leased back to Leeds by one of these companies. Had KPMG not sold to Bates (with backing from the 3 offshore companies) then Elland Road could have been sold off as an investment or at best case the charge for rent could have been increased to make in unfinancially viable to pay it. This would have left Leeds having to share with Bradford. Bates had all the cards and played them well. The new owners should not have the Golden Share given back to them though. It stinks, but I believe he hasnt actually done anything technicall wrong - you could argue the moral ground though.
He hasn't done anything technically wrong I'll wager. Whether or not the authorities have the stomach to go out and prove it remains to be seen.
Sir Ken Bates to me if things carry on It will probably change for the better, but right now it appears the scum are in complete freefall. Especially as Lewis is out for over a month, and DOuglas is due to sign for Burnley. They have a squad of 12 or 13 senior players. The rest are kids, of which the best ones have left. Is it xmas all over again?
RE: He hasn't done anything technically wrong I dont know the legalities around the same person putting a company in admin and then buying it again - but the F.A are likely not to have a process for banning it. It stinks that Bates has done this - and there should be some punishment - but the F.A have not stated any such ruling so he is likely to get away with it - the F.A will then put a process in place so punishment can be made. If this is something that could happen its worth everyone football club owner in the land setting up an offshore company - selling the ground to them and then entering the club into admin. Thus wipping off the debt, keeping the ground and making it impossible for anyone else to buy them.
