Best Match: 3-1 at Villa Park. Smashing their 100M squad with our 10 bob mob after they raided us in January gave me such sweet satisfaction. Could also say 3-0 vs Sunderland as they thought they'd turn up and roll us over. Of course the 3-2 vs Leeds deserves a shout out too.

Worst Match: Performance wise it's got to be Brammall Lane. For feeling gut wrenched it's got to be 0-1 vs Cardiff. However I'm going to say Hull at home. Miserable wet day, completely dominant throughout only to lose to an extremely poor opposition.

Best goal: Barnes at Hillsborough. Nothing to do with the setting (Yes really). Simply world class to bend it in from such an angle. A much harder technique than the half volley which is why Williams would be my 2nd.

Best moment: Takeover announcement. After a brutal stripping of our best players by circling vultures with more money in two consecutive transfer windows I could not contain my elation. Such a relief after months of uncertainty too. The most I have ever felt excited about the future.

Worst Moment: When Radio Sheffield smugly tweeted that Hourihane may be following snakey sam to the rusty old pig sty. In the end I was almost willing Villa on.

General thoughts: Painful year and certainly not one to remember. De ja vu from 2012. Like a punishment because 2016 was so sweet. Star after Star departing. Very few wins and exciting performances. Home form abysmal. Cryne's programme notes. Losing to Blunts and Leeds. Winnall's celebration. The ongoing scoreless and winless run. Wolves heartbreak.

Best match: Leeds 3-2, last time we saw Conor.

Worst match: Derby the other week, utter garbage.

Best goal: I’d say Williams but I didn’t see it live, so Conor vs Leeds

    Best moment: Take over

Worst moment: January 2017 and pre season. Brad Potts.

General thoughts: A rollercoaster year, mostly downs with our terrible form, and the fire sale of our best squad for years. Optimistic for 2018 and looking forward to seeing what this much needed takeover brings, but still nervous about our current league position and the probability of relegation.

Everything you put for me too but I went to Burton so Williams goal as my goal of year, it just came out of nothing.

There's no getting away from the fact that this year has been one of gradual decline. We have gone from playoff-chasing material to a side that begins to resemble the Hillcroft era. The takeover has the potential to change everything, but whether it will actually change very much is as yet unclear. Is our best security the fact that Barnsley MBC appears to be retaining it's 50% stake in Oakwell Holdings? On the playing side, for me the Forest and Sunedrland home victories were beacons (I don't do away).

Well this is pretty boring but the Leeds games take it for me.

Best match was the 3-2 with Hourihane’s free kick winning it, that was us at our best in play off form. Brilliant to watch.

Worst match would be the home game against Leeds that we lost a few weeks back, just didn’t show up, almost as if the players froze. It’s gutting when it happens on any occasion but even worse against them.

Best goal - Obviously Williams was a better strike but for what it meant & the atmosphere in the ground it has to be Hourihane against Leeds, live on Sky, packed stadium, match winning moment & him ending a brilliant 2 & a half years with us with a stunning free kick.

Best match: Beating Leeds 3-2. There's only been ten winning matches to choose from. This game I honestly thought we were gonna challenge for play offs even though the obvious was gonna happen of Hourihane leaving. Looking back at that Saturday evening, I can't believe where we are 11 months later.

Worst match: Despite Hull being my 'Sheffield Wednesday' and the obvious frustrations in that match, the Leeds game this season was appalling. Live on Sky and we were absolutely dog ****. No passion, couldn't string three passes together and was a stark contrast of the game I mentioned prior in January when we beat them 3-2.

Best goal: Harvey Barnes. The goal at Wednesday. He's scored a couple of wordies this season but that one was beaut.

Best moment: Angus MacDonald scoring the equaliser against Wednesday in April in the last minute. It's easy to say the takeover but that dragged on and the lights for Patrick gave me goosebumps but I could watch the MacDonald goal all day. Imagine the feeling if Hammill would have nicked the winner straight after.

Worst moment: Being sat on the bus on the way to work and Winnall and Hourihane both being linked with moves to Wednesday one Wednesday night. Winnall was announced the next day I think. The feeling of watching such a good side and having that taken away because of inept dealings of contracts, greed and no ambitious hit home.

Best match: 3-2 v Leeds in Conors farewell game.
Worst match: Leeds at home this season. Embarrassingly bad.
Best moment: Gus scoring against Wednesday.
Worst moment: The whole of the January transfer window. To see such a good team systematically dismantled was hard to watch.

Pretty much sums it up for me, other than Piggate vs Wednesday as a plus & Winnall scoring / celebration as a minus.
