Anyone noticed I difference. Now I don't think I'm one of the vulnerable that houghton said he was going target the cuts at But I think it's been fairly transparent The remaining staff should be congratulated
The old, the vulnerable, people with mental health issues. Probably all the people you don't give a toss about.
My father in law has had a stroke and suffers vascular dementia. He receives excellent car and support from outstanding quality people. Ironically 7 years ago my own mother suffered yhe same, I would say the support and care in many respects are better now.
My mum is a home carer loads of her colleagues got made redundant. The people they used to get cared for now no longer receive care. It's as straight forward as that.
Well from a person whose family receives and has received those services I can only speak as I find. Also, I did say in the original post that I didn't consider myself to be one os those vulnerable that houghton said he would attack first Once again massive credit to those who remain at the council
you misquoting of Steve Houghton is very characteristic he actually said we will try to defend the vulnerable from the attacks on them. You are an interesting character its like you have a form of emotional Tourettes which demonstrates itself in a complete lack of empathy for others coupled with complete disregard/lack of understanding of anyone's feelings but your*own.
He definitely said our cuts will hit the vulnerable first. I'm not quite sure what the rest of your ramblings mean. I find it incredible that you consider I have mo empathy for others.
I struggling to see how wanting a better more equal society were ambition is encouraged and the vulnerable are protected lacks empathy
Some interesting reading on where moneys being spent month to month. Anything over £500 has to be declared. https://www2.barnsley.gov.uk/about-...nancial-information/expenditure-exceeding-500 £21K paid to AA Taxis in March 2015. £16K to Blue Line Taxis Just out of interest, anyone know what the £5m payments going out, or is that in? £5m to West Midlands Police, Treasury Management, Temporary Loan Principle £27,424.66 West Midlands Police, Treasury Management, Temporary Loan Interest These types of transactions seem pretty common with Calderdale, Greater Manchester Pension Fund, South Dorset DC.
I'm sure he did. And his point was that the cuts the council has had to make, due to a decrease in funding from central government, will hit the most vulnerable in society first, as they always do. He was suggesting this was a bad thing and we shouldn't be making cuts. For reasons best known to yourself, you've interpreted this as Houghton rubbing his hands with glee as he targets the most vulnerable in society and takes essential services away from them. You've brought this to the BBS before and others have attempted to explain the situation, but you simply won't have it. Houghton doesn't want to target the most vulnerable in society, he's just explaining that it's the most vulnerable that will feel it when funding is taken away. Hundreds of politicians and local councillors have made the exact same point.
For politions of houghtons stance you need s scscapegoat and a victim. As Neil Kinnock said you don't play politics with peoples jobs
You're talking nonsense tyrone. He's not playing politics and it's not about people's jobs. He's simply explaining what happens when a council receives less money. The most vulnerable in society are those without jobs - the old, the sick and the weak - and it's those that will feel the full brunt of the cuts. I'm not a supporter of Steve Houghton, I know very little about him to be honest, but you're completely misresprenting what the man said. I'm sure there are many policies he has implemented that are open to legitimate criticism, but on this point, you've got hold of the wrong end of the stick, and it seems like you're doing it deliberately.
As Jay said Houghton made it clear that central government cuts would impact the vulnerable but that they would attempt to ameliorate the effects. Your lack of empathy comes across in everything you say. the FA Cup can't sit in my seat issue. it was interesting that you failed to see how your views could be offensive. recognising things about yourself is not necessarily a bad thing but you and empathy are not friends.
Oh you mean my piss take Yes I was not happy about been offered a substandard seat but saying I didn't want any peasant sat in it was clearly a piss take
In 7 years the understanding of the issues involved with dementia have increased massive amounts. I'd suggest that's the most likely reason for the increase in the standard of care - along with people who do it for the love of the job, rather than the pitiful amount they get paid.
That's not how I remember it but hey ho, to be clear everything I have ever hear you say lacks empathy, sympathy or any idea of the feelings of others. Even when you have a decent point such as about Digby you express yourself in such a way that even those who agree with you think again. It's a special skill.
