I resisted temptation to post last night as my judgement would have been clouded by being pissed off at losing to Huddersfield and slightly pissed up after a few post match pints. I'm afraid that at present we look relegation certainties and anybody who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. We're shaky at the back, have no creativity from midfield, no natural width and without Davies, absolutely zilch in and around the opposition's box. Many people I spoke to in town last night were saying it's time for Hill to go. I've not reached that point just yet but I am stuggling to defend him much longer. He only seems to know one way of playing and when did he ever make a substitution that changed a game for the better? I'm not actually sure that Hill wants to manage our club any longer to be honest. His post match interviews are the ramblings of a man who's lost the plot. If he seriously wants to stay at Oakwell then he's got to make some drastic changes to the way we play. We have to get some width to the team and get some bloody crosses into the box where we need two strikers to be playing. All the tippy tappy stuff across midfield and our own box is getting us nowhere. The more crosses we get in the more chances we are likely to get, football isn't rocket science. I'd leave Stones out for a few games because we're going to ruin the best prospect we've had in years if we aren't careful. I'd shift Keefy's golden boy Wiseman to right back and pair McNulty in the middle with either Foster or even Edwards. I'd also give Golbourne a rest and bring in Kennedy at left back. Mellis had a mare yesterday and I'd like to see Cywka tried in the middle alongside Dawson or Crainie. Where is Silva? I'm told he looked very useful for 20 mins at Hull and then he's been jettisoned completely! Get him in on the left and JOB on the right at Bolton next week. Hopefully there'll be a loan striker coming in this week but I'm not holding my breath. If so they'd be in upfont with Davies (if fit) or Harewood. Don't anyone suggest Mido playing as his appearance yesterday was a complete embarrassment to the club. He has to be the biggest, unfittest footballer I've ever seen take to the field. How on earth have we given him a contract? He'd struggle to get a game in a pub team in that shape. He wants paying up and booting out in January to free up a wage. I reckon Hill will get another half dozen or so games to save his skin. I hope he uses them wisely but he's always been a stubborn git so I'll be surprised if he changes his philosophy. Forget all the talk of framework, endeavour, budgets, DNA, Minis and Rolls Royces. Keith, just give us a simple 4 4 2 and have a go at the opposition. If we get beat and go down, so be it. For Christ's sake though, stop bleating and boring us all to death with your present tactics.
tbf our fans were brilliant yesterday cheered the team on, were never negative, and hardly a boo to be heard, big pat on't back for reds fans imo. could easily have been different with recent results.
Mido put himself about enthusiastically. Did more than Etuhu. But we didn't give him much to go at. Just hoofed it at him, and Marlon.
Where do we go from here? This calls for a bit of buffy
