looking at the fixtures list I am struggling to see 20 coming, that's with the way the team are right now.
I still don't think we'll go down. But that's more hope & optimism right now, rather than confidence.
Listen to this all the way through. Football will no longer be that important. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYH54ePan1g
Marc... do you really think we should be worried about relegation? we so certainly should not. I do not ever want to come across as a Sheffield Wednesday "Massive" kinda fan... but FFS we really oughta be a top team in L1 at the very least... and also a decent team ( midtable) in the champs... right now we are neither ... its getting very worrying... and its not Wilsons fault either... there are a lot more factors than that.
We had this discussion when Wilson was in charge last year. He did nothing to stave relegation. We are in the same position this year, and he fiddles while Rome burns. His match reports are a complete load of boll@@cks and his team building and formations, plus tactics are abysmal. I said that after the Swindon match we would be in the bottom four, and it is looking a good bet. With the support and money he has had his performance is crap. We talk about who would replace him. Hill is flying at Rochdale. Flitcroft is flying at Bury. Mellon has the Shrews at the top. Wilson cannot lick either of their boots. It will all become irrevelant shortly.
Re: Marc... Agreed, not because we're "massive" or anything but simply because we were a Championship team just last season. Quite a few of us were looking forward to League 1 football, thinking it would give us a chance to be 'competitive' but everyone seems to have forgotten that. Yeah, there's quite a big gap between the two leagues but surely our standards shouldn't have dropped so far that there's a chance we'll be HOPING for survival yet again. I'm not saying we should be running away with the league, or even be in the top 6. We just shouldn't be thinking about relegation. I agree that it's not just Wilson's fault too, although he has to take some of the blame...
I would have happily had mellon as manager when flickers time was up. Shouldnt have let dagnall go either would have been useful this season
The fact we're even discussing the possibility of a relegation struggle in this league is incredibly depressing. I think we'll stay up, because I think we'll muddle through the games like Yeovil at home, picking up enough hard earned points to finish possibly 18th/19th. Whether that's an acceptable return for a side that has recruited a decent number of more than capable players for this level, I doubt. But given the apparent focus on blooding youngsters and developing a young side, maybe it's all we can ask for. Such a tight league this though, honestly thought with another couple of Winnall/Williams like signings we could push onwards and upwards. Sitting at soulless Stadium:MK today though, it looked like a side doomed to struggle for the time being at least.
