2nd period was as bad a half of football from us as I've seen in a long time

Their third was the worst goal I think I've ever seen us concede. It'll be shown time and again how not to take a kick off.

First half we cancelled each other out. They like to play it out from the back so we put four players forward and challenged them to do that. We came within an inch of nicking from them on many occasions, but it didn't happen. Because we pressed them, they had to launch the ball forward which we won more often than not and enjoyed much more possession in their half of the field than they did in ours, but we didn't create much. They produced one good shot, which Turnbull saved well.

Second half we didn't press with the same energy, but the game opened up and became stretched. Cole was clean through but went for the near post which their keeper easily blocked, Hourihane had an attempt blocked after a goal mouth scramble, but the keeper probably had it covered, they then scored and we went to pieces. We might as well have left the field at that point as we did nothing from that point forward and the 3-0 defeat could have been much worse.

Man of the match was their number 3 who played right wing-back and danced through our defence to score the first and set up the second. Dudgeon didn't put a tackle in on him all game, gave him 5 yards every time he had the ball, so he had the space to either get in a cross or start his run to beat Dudgeon for pace. Not that Wilson helped our full back, who was left one on one with him all game. Jennings (or another) should have played from the start and given the job of marking their number 3 whenever they had the ball. Having said that, Dudgeon should have tried tackling him at least once.

For us, Bree did little wrong, Turnbull kept the scoreline down in the second half and Hourihane showed some skill. Other than that, meh.

Good read as always Jay, i thought we seemed to go to pieces as soon as Winnall went off, after he was off we couldn't stick the ball up in that position.

Another note, if Wilson did get the sack, who would come in? Can't see anyone wanting to come here,

The problem was clear to see from the start. We had 3 up with Hourihane just behind. We had 4 at the back with 2 just in front. In between was a great big **** off space that their midfield controlled with no one near them. As bad a set up for a team, as I have ever seen.
I could pick holes in every player on our team today, apart from Crainie and Turnbull.

I don't want him sacked. We've only played 9 games.

9 games this season but 9 wins in 30 odd games and 10 goals in the last 3 matches 8 goals at home too don't give Wilson the biggest likeness to fans.

I dont really want him to be sacked too, but if he keeps changing players and formations around it ain't gonna get much better

Neither do I, but I do want him to improve. Fannying around with the formation every five minutes almost cost us at Fleetwood, so what possessed him to do it again I don't know. We just didn't seem to do anything right today and Dudgeon has got so bad, after playing well for the first few games, that I don't think i have seen a player lose the ability to play as quick. We have enough quality in our team to be putting up more of a fight against League One opposition, even the better teams in League One. The players seem to make a lot of bad choices throughout the game. If we can stop them from giving the ball away so often it would be a start.

I don't want Wilson to be sacked, but another three or four performances like the last few and it sadly becomes inevitable. And then we start it all over again...

Aye very little cover for back four especially wide, been like this for weeks. Cranie cant escape criticism either today I`m afraid.

I thought we were poor in 1st half too. Did we have a lot of possession? I don't remember it, and my nephew only got there at ht and said he'd seen the 1st half stats and it looked like they were dominating, that's how I saw it. Not many goalscoring opportunities for them but they were much better than us from the off.

Out of interest if you could see the problem from the start, how come it took until the second half for them to see this obvious problem? We played ok in the 1st half it was a decent game of football, the formation wasn't the problem. Once they scored we fell apart, no excuses and quite worryingly. I think we were set out like we did because they play out from the back, Wilson hoped to stop them doing that. Once we went behind nobody wanted to take responsibility anywhere on the pitch.

    I was happy with Turnbull.

Bree played well other than that not really too many positives
A close game then we inexplicably fell to bits
