Full text here From the Official site POST MATCH REACTION FROM OAKWELL Posted on: Sat 29 Aug 2009 REDS boss Simon Davey gave his thoughts following today's controversial defeat by Reading. Simon told Barnsley Player: "It is not good to lose here at Oakwell so we are all very disappointed. I thought we started the game well and got a good goal when we were on top. The referee then gave them a free kick, which was never a foul against Darren Moore, and from that they managed to equalise when we did not deal with the resulting corner. "We then went into the second half. I have not seen the penalty again but my initial reaction was that it was not a penalty. We were then too busy arguing about that and we conceded a third and the game went away from us. "We are very disappointed with that. If it turns out that it was not a penalty then that is two decisions which have cost us the game. "The game just went away from us in the end and we never really got a grasp on it in the closing stages. The wind did not help and everything just seemed to run away from us. I have never given up on anything in my life and I will be fighting to win the next game. "Bobby Hassell should be fit again by the time we get back after the international break. We have O'Neil Thompson in with us now and he should benefit from another fortnight training with us".
Stonewall penalty in my opinion. I couldn't believe Steele brought him down in a nothing position. My problem with the ref was him allowing Hunt to twice incite the crowd and not get booked.
The bloke hasn't got an idea Grasping at straws doesn't even begin to describe how irresponsible and hopeless that sounds. He must go. So depressed with that.
I'm all for sef belief but that is all so familiar that its ridiculous every week its everybodys fault but his (banghead)
He ALWAYS blames the wind! Said to the young 'un on way down today that he'd blame the wind if we lost. Clown.
