It's not... particularly as a number of those no doubt in other situtions will claim to be 'British'. Hypocrits.

I wonder if they can spell "crowd" though?

I'm pretty sure there's more England fans there

Judging by the levels of volume generated by each set of supporters after wickets and boundaries.

    Is this on TV?

Because crowd volume on TV means nothing at all.

Very well said. I wonder how many of these so called British Muslims are supporting England against Pakistan (chinny) (chinny) (chinny)

Think of all the expats from England in Australia. Do you think they would support the Aussies in the Ashes?

we must be doing something wrong. I had this conversation with a guy from Iraq the other day. He was born in Britain and lived here all his life, but he says he is definitely not English because you have to be white to be English. I disagreed with him obviously.

    Yes

But also from shots of the crowd, looks to me to be more England fans.

Yeah exactly. Just like the so called British Muslims cheering on Pakistan, they are only British when they suit.

Where are his parents from? My sisters were brought up in German, but that doesn't make them German because our parents are both British.

You got the completely wrong end of the stick as usual.

I know several people who live in Oz, I'm sure Mick is one of them, who cheer on the Brits all the time. It's just the same. I'm sure even second generation English cheer on the English. It's just the same as the Pakistanis and Indians who are second generation supporting their homeland.

Or is the difference the colour of their skin or their religion?

The Pakistan fans in the crowd will have had two Pakistani parents so yeah it makes sense for them to be cheering on Pakistan when themselves are Pakistani. I could have been say born in America and lived there all my life but it wouldn't have made me American if both my parents are British.
