anyone know if Mellon played 352 at Fleetwood? Was it his or Flicker's idea when we used it last year to good effect? I guess we might find out tomorrow night.

Yeah, I don't know if he did but I suppose he's got no choice but to try something different. There's a good chance he'll stumble across something better suited to us than 4-4-2

Probably Flickers. Word has it that Pep had been preparing to use it.

It was Keith Hill and David Flitcrofts idea to use it but Keith Hill wanted to wait until the international break so they could work on it in training.

Flicker used it at Peterborough and it did okay, first half was shocking though and you could tell the players didn't fully understand it.

Not sure why people are obsessing over this formation to be honest.

I'd be surprised if the new manager doesn't use it and we never use it again.

    Hopefully anyway.

Is there a new fangled system that the Premiership sides are using, with only 1 striker by any chance ?

I've been on the Fleetwood forum (one for CricketJim and I'm Spartacus, there) and they played 4-5-1. Dour, but effective. Apparently.

Probably "obsessing over it" cos that formation played a big part in us winning games n keeping us up last season, not to mention being great to watch!
