We’ve had some great players and teams, two of them now playing for England.

We’ve also had several who have under achieved, bottled leads and occasions, and gone down without a whimper.

The England team at this tournament has more often looked like the latter.

You want to include the Welshman, Irishman and Scot in the England team?

Where do you think that team would finish in the English leagues? Which position overall? I'm far too young to remember most ;)

Noted the wink lol. But for those interested.
The team that went up which is primarily that one. Was quoted as the best team in the league (2nd div. Championship then) by Terry Venables (manager of the champions QPR the following season). We finished 6th.
1 place behind QPR. And only 4pts below Norwich who got promoted in 3rd. but the football was on another level entertainment wise from us compared to any other team in the league and most of those in div. 1 at the time. Sadly some players moved onto bigger clubs and we finished 10th the following season.. If we'd kept that side I believe we'd have challenged for promotion (top 3 went up) After adapting the the higher division.

Now, if only Norman had got the England Job. :). A centre half who only knew how to attack. From defence to attack with quality football at it's best. (But tbf we had quality players in abundance, Clarkey had a big say but Norman made em play.
Poet and dint know it lol.
