Slightly ahead of schedule ;-) I know it's boring to repeat but many were predicting nothing until September, so here we go, more then B'Ham and Derby. Two clubs there with aspirations of the playoffs minimum.

I suspect if we had lost 2-1 Setday and played decent there wouldn't be as much grumbling, the reality of course is, we got pasted and played poorly. Why? I don't know, injuries are a good smokescreen for the media, and I know 3 games in 7 days without any rotation will take its toll even at this stage.

But I can't help but feel the team out yesterday should have been more than capable, experienced enough, to get a point down there or narrow defeat. The worry for me is the fact we didn't try by all accounts, it's totally unacceptable.Watched the goals and got to say many looked bloody lucky, unless I was wearing rose tinted glasses they didn't exactly hit wonder strikes or carve us open like Barca.Just flukey punts into box and scutched efforts. The defending however was poor and many clearances should have been made let alone allowing the ball in first.

Also I think the last two defeats are made all the worse by our dee dah neighbours starting well with their hugely experienced Championship manager, let's not forget our Keith is only starting his second season at the level and less than 10 in management all together.

3 points against Bristol would leave us exactly 50% and mid table, a position most fans would take come May. We need to get players back fit, we need to be able to rotate. We need the energy of O'Brian, the experience of Mido, the leadership of Edwards, the hopeful skill of Silva, we need Steele back.We need all this things available as much as possible every week to compete.

One last thing why not play Collins, surely if signed as a centre half, he should be playing.

Onwards and upwards, as players return we will see a more effective hard to beat BFC, might take till Oct, but it will come.I saw enough last Saturday against a very good Boro side to suggest we have signed some good players.

    Yoooooooooooooooo redssssssssssssss

I agree about Edwards unfortunately he can't seem to keep clear of injury. We crave for a commanding centre half and I think Edwards can fit the bill once we get him fully fit.

Thank god i am not alone KHJ. I too have watched the goals and came to the same opinion. Having said that many of them must not have put a shift in or Keefy wouldn't be so unhappy. Given that we think they were flukey, then it probably wouldn't have mattered who played, the same thing could have happened. I am not sure that 3 points are certain against Bristol cos they certainly have the edge looking at previous encounters.

Brighton fan here in peace. 10/10 for picking yourselves up by the short & curlys. As you say it was only one game. We got hammered 6-0 at West Ham last year & finished 10th. Our arch enemies Crystal Palace beat us at The Amex 3-1 (first club to win at The Amex), which really hurt. Have to say, that none of our goals were lucky, or punts into the box. Indeed we were coasting at 2-0 when we gave you guys a way back in with the penalty, when we were not under pressure.

I wish you well for the rest of the season & I am sure that Barnsley will stay up & get those wins when your full team is back. Always enjoy the away fixture at Oakwell.

Jake is a great player for us, though why we have loaned him to Oxford, only Poyet knows. Suspect he wants the boy to have more games under his belt before becoming an Albion regular.
