He might not go. I know I may be clutching at straws, but I've never known a player speak so proudly about playing for Barnsley. He may decide to stay with us for the time being. Yours, an old romantic.
People say flicker has no choice in the matter, But a hope he has a good talk with stones and convinces him to stay. Atleast until the summer
I think he'll have a lot of options with a full season under his belt. He's never made the sort of noises Butterfield/Hammill did about moving on so you never know.
If we don't need to sell for financial reasons then we must have a choice. It's a pity I don't trust Rowing/Taylor to get the best deal.
Absolutely gutted about this. For me Stones has been the key factor in my excitement in Barnsley FC returning along with the other young 'uns coming through. I admit from the end of last season I even pondered wether to renew my season ticket but went for it anyway. Again the dull matches continued but up stepped this local lad proud to wear the red shirt and putting in performance after performance. That alone was enough to get me back to 100% in the stands after feeling so empty with performances for so long. The stay away's will love this news and will be straight on the clubs back. This will be there latest excuse not to attend but the club play into their hands so easy. I know it's for the good of the club but take a gamble and see where it takes us!! He could be worth double with another season under him or even better the player our future team is built around with the emergence of the other younger players. Anyway I'm rambling now but the main point is this I'm frustrated!
Really hope you're right but think we are clutching at straws. The lure of the premier league may be to much to pass up on.
Prem only guaranteed for another 3 months. Wigan will go at some point. He's better off staying with us until then as if he carries on he will get a better club than ****ing Wigan
