    1. Bring in 2-3 experienced players in key areas to help our current kids
    2. Raise the tempo and be more direct. This doesn't equate to 'knock it long' but get the ball forward sooner. Fewer sideways and backward passes. Put the opposition under pressure, get the ball out wide more often, get some crosses in and have more shots. Encourage the players to run at the opposition. Save the tippy tappy football and retaining possession for when we are 3-0 up
    3. Play 2 up front. Give opposing defenders 2 players to mark, not just one. Have two players on the field who can finish!

Disclaimer: May result in conceding more goals and losing at home 3-4 against Blackpool instead of drawing 1-1.

Second Disclaimer: My lawyers tell me point 2 legally constitutes 7 points. But 3 point plan sounded better than 9 point plan!

Is it only me who thinks that the tippy tappy thing is a bit of an over simplification? Didn't see much tippy tappy personally against Bradford - we were really direct, and we played a lot of long diagonals against Crewe. I don't think we've been anywhere near as tippy tappy as is being made out

That's the way... Tap it about at the back then hit a diagonal

    1) Sack Johnson.
    2) Improve for a bit when a numpty from a club somewhere near Manchester is appointed.
    3) Regress to the mean, and sack him.

Yeah you are probably right. There have been times this season when we have been direct and looked better for it. Don't get me wrong I like to see a good passing team. I hate teams who just adopt route 1 and by-pass the midfield.
But we do spend too long passing the ball and then suddenly knocking it long. I just think we need to be more direct much more often.

Swindon and Gillingham. Both home wins, both via a higher tempo game, getting bodies forward, pressing and moving the ball more quickly.

    Both described as ugly wins..

Also need to get on the end of and get a foot on those low crosses, that was mainly why we lost against Crewe

Not described as ugly by me. I prefer that high tempo, get it forward style to pass pass pass.

Same here, less action in the middle third and more action in the final third.

I've said it before and been sneered at but Barcelona/Spain of a few years ago bored me rigid.

Me 2. Get the scores on the doors then they can play as much ole football as they want to see out the game.

Also agree. We spent all the second half in the final third getting in behind them out wide. Just lacked the quality ball in and a midfielder pushing on

That's right, I don't think there are enough bodies in the box when the crosses come in. People bang on about having 2 up front but that's not necessarily because we only play one up front, but that our midfielders aren't attacking the box enough.

I remember a few years ago when Man Utd were winning everything and they did some analysis on Match of the Day. Whenever Giggs or Beckham crossed the ball into the box they froze the picture and there were about 4 or 5 Man Utd players there waiting or entering the box.

I know we are not Man U but it's more about the mentality of charging forward at the right time to make that extra option in the last third.

Pearson is a super player and I just wonder if he is wasted playing as far back as he does, whether we could have him playing about 15 yards further forward.

    That cannot be correct?
We always play with 5 attacking , 5 in midfield and 5 defending. I know that because the manager(who picks the team and tactics) says so !!

The 2 fans remarked that we were not actually so tippy tappy recently. Which I think is a correct observation.

You are of course free to thus conclude that they and I are happy. However wrong that might be.
