Well, firstly, great result today. Burnley were no pushover and stamped their intent on the game right from the off with some good attacking play.

We took the lead against the run of play, with a great finish by Macken. He latched on to the throughball and beat Jensen with ease. Odejayi should've made it two moments later, but Jensen made himself big and saved the one on one.

The 2nd goal was very lucky, but just what we needed and deserved. If you don't shoot, then you don't score. Great run by JCR and a fantastic strike that hit Whaley and flew past the despairing Jensen.

A fantastic corner routine delivered the 3rd. JCR looked up and played a ball straight to the edge of the box where Leon was waiting. He took the ball in his stride before firing the ball towards the goal. It looked to take a deflection once again, but the hell cares, it hit the back of the net.

Now, this is where Barnsley failed and it nearly cost us. They switched off. They assumed that the game was sewn up. We were playing a good team. Burnley aren't 5th in the Championship on luck - they are there on merit, however, they were never going to score unless we sat back and allowed them to press...and thats exactly what we did. They pulled 2 goals back that can only be described as sloppy on our part, and instead of playing out the remainder of the game and adding to the tally, we were left biting our nails as Muller saved us time after time and Burnley spurned a great chance with the goal gaping to make the game 3-3.

Overall, I'm happy with the win and the 3 goals. What I wasn't happy with, was the way we as professionals simply switched off and took the foot off the gas at 3-0 up. You just can't do that in this league, you can't. We need to learn from that, and take into Saturdays game where hopefully we get another 3 points.

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!

    That corner routine..

JCR left the ball short and four men converged on Leon. If he hadn't got the first touch, it would have been a four man break against 2 defenders and probably 2-1. Credit to Leon for getting there first because it would have been a potential disaster if he hadn't.

Yep, fair point. I know this sounds daft but...

I think, that if the score would've stayed at 2-0, it would've remained at 2-0. At 2-0, we would've probably continued playing the nice football and defended the way we were, without taking any unecessary risks. At 3-0, we basically took the foot off the gas, and left our selves exposed time and time again, as Burnley gradually gained the momentum and took control.
