It was a must win game and they did the business!

An enjoyable day apart from the ***** driving conditions and A1 closure on the journey back home.

I don't see any report on the game other than LJ comments who said first half was great, but suggested second half was terrible? anyone with a match report ?

1st half came quickly out of the traps with the right mindset and thoroughly deserved the 2 - 0 lead at half time.

It could have been more against a very poor Colchester side who posed little threat attacking wise

Second half Colchester came out and nearly scored immediately after a few scrambles in the box and also hit the bar but toney finished well after a good cross and we all thought that was that.

Sloppy defending allowed them to score 2 quick goals and we were in desperate need of change to shore things up but the head coach showed his naivety again by not making any changes!

Watkins went down with cramp yet still no change.

The last 10 minutes were nerve racking and Colchester had a couple of half chances to equalise but thankfully lady luck was on our side for a change.

To summarize there were many positives and the biggest one is our retention of Hammill till the seasons end.

The negatives are we are still ***** at the back and better sides than Colchester will exploit this but we came away with the points in a must win game ( it really was that important!!!!)

Still in the relegation zone but a victory against Wigan should sort that issue out.

    You Reds!!

Thanks for the report Dr.Z....as for going to Colchester....' Reight Fan' status now confirmed!!
Just watched the Skysports highlights...second half looked all Colchester, but the player commentary gave the impression we had a few chances to make
it 4...including Watkins disallowed goal...what did you reckon?
