1 Did you go to Wembley ( Oxford ) to watch a league 1 v league 2 match and did you cough up best part of £100 for one game?

2 Did you go to Wembley ( Millwall ) to watch a league 1 v league 1 match and did you cough up best part of £100 for one game?

3 Will your principles let you find an extra couple of quid to watch 2 championship teams in action?

    Re: two questions

    1. No, my ticket was about 18 quid.
    2. No, my ticket was mid-twenties, can't remember exactly.
It was cheaper to get into Wembley than Oakwell, based on the fact that Wembley was post-concession rate. My good fortune.
    3. No, cos fortunately I've just passed "concession" rate, and my average for each game with my s/t this season and next, if I want one then, is £8.26.
Yes I'm fortunate in that respect, it's not my fault about how old I am, but it's my turn now to take advantage of the situation.
HOWEVER, I really do feel for the fans who can't get a s/t and who will have to pay top whack. It is very sad.

    4. Did you go to Luton away in 2005 with the rest of the real fans?

    1) Yes and no: I thought (at the time) it was a "one-off" game, so the price was irrelevant to me and I wanted to have the Wembley experience. My ticket was actually half price as I'm 60, but I would have paid the full price anyway. I also stopped down for 2 nights and had lots of beer, which added to the cost considerably.

    3) No. Anything above £20 is too expensive.

The Oxford game cost me £30 all-in. I had a £20 ticket and free travel with Hayseldens. I bought one round (£10) and took my own sarnies.

THe Millwall game cost more as the ticket was £10 extra and the free travel didn't happen. It still only cost me £70 all-in though. I afforded it as I put it on the credit card and paid for it out of June and July's unused footy budget.

The calibre of opposition doesn't create more spare cash in my pocket, so I will attending fewer games this season than last.

    Re: two questions

Assuming these prices are roughly in line with other Championship Clubs as BFC say (I've only quickly checked a couple and they seem to be) then I don't see why anyone has a problem with BFC.

There seems to be this impression that supporters of all other clubs are minted, and only people in Barnsley have limited disposable cash.

We're trying to compete with clubs with far far bigger budgets than ours. I always find it funny that fans want Patrick to finance big signings etc but don't want to contribute themselves.

Football tickets are too expensive in general but this is a football wide issue, and not the fault of the Directors of BFC.

    1) Yes I went, no I didn't.

    3) Principles have nothing to do with how much someone's wage is at the end of the month.

People will pay more to see us at Wembley, because let's be honest it doesn't happen often. They begrudgingly paid it. Paying upto £38 to watch em where you watch em every other week is a big ask. I'll do it, because I'm an idiot. But it's certainly not a working man's game anymore

i started this post aimed at the " i'm not going anymore " brigade that post on here. Yes i accept that money is tight and that the few matches at Cat A will be out of some peoples reach. The majority of matches will cost about £2 more than last season to watch championship football with the likes of Hamill Hourihane Winnall Mawson playing for our team. Would you prefer we had stayed in league 1 and kept the prices same as last year. Bear in mind you would not be watching those 4 players and possibly others if we were.
These and the others are now Championship players on Championship wages, how else does the club find the extra revenue to cover these increases?

Mostly from the 6 million we've earned through promotion, the JPT win and the bit of money we got for being on the tele.
