    Keep looking forward mate

Can't understand anyone who gets hung up on ages - just give the ball a good kick whatever.

There's always something (someone) new to do.

Every day, you're a day older than the previous one, that's all. Birthdays mean 'nowt, other than a few cards, some cake and an excuse to down a few pints.

    You're still a bairn, enjoy:-

Like some one said earlier age means nowt, but keep giving the ball a good kick whatever, just remember, this is the main event, not a rehearsall. They say life begins at 40, mine started at 56 when I was lucky enough to take my redundo and pension, my intention is grow old as disgracefully as is humanly possible, I fancied a tattoo for years and decided to have it done when I was 60, had another three since and I aint finished yet, might even have mi ear pierced anall. I go out drinking when I can, go on holiday when I can, started hiking wi some guys older than me, owt between 15 and 20 miles a time up on the moors, after 35 years of shifts in a steel works its heaven. Tha's got a lifetime in front of you, go for it big style.

Absolutely spot on, old buddy. I'm 52 on Sunday and I left the steelworks in similar circumstances to your good self (as you know) two years ago, on my 50th birthday. It was the best thing I ever did. I took up wrestling, went to university and went on my first archaeological dig this summer. Life is for living, as best as circumstances allow.
Oh, and many happy returns for tomorrow ark104.

    Magnus Magnusson type of bloke

No, seriously, with your great knowledge of all things wages, your amazing memory of clock numbers ( how did you do that ) your ability to solve any problem I had with the teams wages and all delivered in that dark chocolate voice gave me that sort of image. Just shows what a bizzare imagination I have.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Re: Magnus Magnusson type of bloke

How did he do that you ask? how did he remember all the numbers? How did he know so much about wages? How could he answer anything that you asked? Simple, he took laura to work with him and all your phone calls were on loud speaker with her writing down the answer to everything you asked.
