26 from the next 13 to qualify for the play offs. Looking at past tables, 75 pts usually gets you across the line comfortably, often its much less (66 last season) and only a couple of times in the last 20 years has it been any more. We did it with 72 in 2006.
I was just saying the same to my dad - I think 25 more needed. It's still quite a big ask, but IF we win the next 3, that would leave us needing 16 from 10. I definitely wouldn't bet against us from that position.
I'm with the club coaches on this. We need 3 points from 1. Once we are past the next game the same equation will exists, 3 from the next 1. When we look up at the end of the season, the league position will take care of itself. Good to see though as a fan what task we have ahead of us over the season. Tall ask but as some teams ramp up some will fall off. All to play for.
It'll all go down to injuries and suspensions, if we can keep the key players playing, we should be ok, but Id be worried if we lost brownhill and houriane at the same time, for example.
Think this could be the key issue. From the glimpses of this chapman looks like he has promise. Would be very pleased with him, Isgrove and Hammill as out and out wingers for the run in. Means we can rotate and look after them a bit. Centre mid we have Hourihane, Brownhill and Scowen. Strikers fletcher, Watkins, Winnall. I'd say it's only defence that we look light on real quality. Starting 4 are doing well so far, but are young and inexperienced. A quality left back to allow Bree and Williams to compete for right side would make me feel a hell of a lot happier for run in.
I agree. Ive just been an anorak and done predictions for us and Millwall Cov Sarfend and Bradford on the basis that the top four will go to burton gillingham walsall and Wigan. My final prediction at today's date 5th Millwall. 77 6th. Barnsley. 75 7th Coventry 74 8th Bradford 73 Southend 65 Didn't do the Blunts so they could have a sneaky run in which impacts the above. Good fun doing this rather than having to do the same to see whether we can avoid relegation. Makes Sunday morning breakfast fun.
Top and bottom of it though, if we can do Coventry it puts us from a bit of hope to seriously into the mix, it also means no one can really afford to slip up. The pressure on those above might start to tell...Millwall look capable of handling it, but Walsall Gills and Coventry?
