Barnsley's <b style="COLOR: black; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff66">Chris Shuker[/b] could stay at Oakwell, according to manager Andy Ritchie. He was said to be 'confident' that Shuker will re-sign next week.

<font size="4">However, as Mike Newell is on holiday, it is just possible that Shuker is waiting to hear from Newell before re-signing at Barnsley.</font>

Luton's one-time targets Kevin McNaughton, Vince Pericard and Neil Danns have signed for Cardiff City, Stoke City and Birmingham City respectively.

Mike Newell has interest in other players and most contracts seem to end at the beginning of July each year, so there could be activity in the near future.

Mike is known to be looking for at least one player in each department, defence, midfield and striking.
