Are they ok for normal internet surfing? As anyone got one? I know its all dependant on 3g coverage and in what area... but i move about alot and desperately need internet access, not only for email access but general internet surfing. Vodafone or orange? Thanks in advance people,
Yeah... I've got an Orange one and it's excellent. You can surf / download pretty quickly whilst in a 3g area. Maybe worth checking the coverage of the main areas you are likely to be using it in. I use in mostly in London so its pretty well covered but I know the rest of the country doesn't have total coverage on 3g yet.
In a 3g area is fairly similar experience to using broadband
Having said that it drops back to GPRS mode if you aren't in a 3g area and its still usable for surfing the net (just). It also works well on the train between London and Yorkshire and it isn't noticeable when you drop in and out of 3g areas.

You can always change your tariff Up or down if you need. There's also a data counter that so you can see how much you are using on the software.
