    Not happy.

3m for a player that has everything apart from experience is shocking. Madness to sell. And i very much doubt we will see him in a reds shirt again if he signs for them as they will throw him straight into the first team.

Wigan will sell him on in a years time for 12m mo doubt. Wed better get 50% sell on clause in there.

Once again soon as the feel good factor is back it all gets trashed by something like this.

    Gutted if he goes.

They aint stones. Like flicker says - hes a defender, an attackig wing back and a centre half all in one! Tell me thats not worth a fortune in the prem. oh and future england player im sure.

Given he's barely played at centre back you cant put much value on him in that respect. He's clearly very good but some folk here are living in fantasy land re: his value. Besides we dont know what the add-on clauses are yet. Im sure there are at least 2 on there, one of which will be a sell on clause, the other will be related to Int appearances or 1st team appearances im sure.

I'm going out on a limb and saying there won;t be any or that £3 million includes them.

Absolutely agree - the £3m will be the absolute maximum we can make out of the deal. This is usually quoted to appease the fans of the selling club. The cash up front will be much less.

3 million will go a long way to plugging the revenue gap between League 1 and the Championship. A negative way at looking at things but has to be a consideration for 'the board'. Personally, I believe Stones' value will only go up and the thought of our alternatives to him at wing back would encourage me to hold firm. However, I can understand that it's a big risk turning it down. He could always get injured, or you could piss him off by blocking his dream move to the Prem.

Not an easy decision to make. I do seriously hope it is 3 mill plus adds ons though.

While we were hammerin' Millwall on Tuesday night I was down Jericho. A nice meal and all that but I know where I'd rather have been :)

    Re: Oxford Red

    Haha! Good spot that.

Sadly, I no longer live in Oxford. Made the move back to God's own county a while back and had the pleasure of watching us hammer Millwall on Tuesday. Stuck with the name though, figured it lends credence to my posts.

I'm hoping this piss poor transfer deal is just a very bad dream and any minute now my alarm clock is going to go off and I will wake up and realise that not even BFC would part with an asset like Stone for such a derisory amount.

It's terrible business and timing from the club.

The kid doesn't want to leave, he's tied to a long contract and his value isn't going to decline between now and the end of the season.

We either ask silly money or tell them to **** off.

Accepting £3M proves that Rowing and Cryne are still clueless. Nothing will change until the commercial management changes.

******* awful BFC. PR disaster to ensue too.

I've had enough of the same ****. We even get screwed when we hold all the cards.
