has gone up automatically once

has gone up via the playoffs twice

and missed the playoffs once (in an odd year when only the top club went up automatically)

the 2001/2 figures are an approximation as no 3rd place team had played 36 games

see document for details-playoff winner in blue

    Strange...

How many local rivals have been up there together over the last few years....

    92/93 - Stoke 1st, Port Vale 3rd
    95/96 - Swindon 1st, Oxford 2nd
    96/97 - Bury 1st, Stockport 2nd
    99/00 - Preston 1st, Burnley 2nd
    02/03 - Wigan 1st, Crewe 2nd

and also how many current premiership teams have been down in these depths in the last few years: Bolton, Wigan, WBA, Birmingham, Man City, Fulham (and Reading aren't far off). Thats s third of the Premiership teams that have been at this level within the last decade.

I think the question on Dirks lips is. Did you wipe and look at it afterwards?
