Four ******* nil? *Grrrrrrrr* *shakes fist* Davey out and all that ballacks. Personally, I wasn't that surprised by the result, despite the fact that we have *ahem* the best midfield in the division. Make no bones about it, we're absolutely ******* **** away from home. We've the worst away record in the division and we haven't won away since September and only once all season. I guess a lot of people thought we would improve with the new signings, but I don't see why. Most of them have been here on loan and played in a number of away games where we've failed miserably. I don't see why anything should suddenly change because they've signed permanently. We've 37 points at present, so I guess we need another 15 from the remaining 16 matches to be absolutely safe. That's 4 wins and 3 draws. I think we'll just about do that. If we do and all you were hoping for was survival then I guess the season will have been a success. But in my opinion, with the amount of investment the board have made in the squad, simply surviving will be well below par.
It all begs the question WHY the side with the 4th best home record in the league can't play away from home. Ipswich fans are probably asking themselves a similar question. I've only seen two games this season so can't even begin to come up with a plausible answer, though I believe I'd be right in saying that our away record was better even at this stage last season than it is now.
I have to agree. Can't believe how well the board has backed Davey this season. Far too many of his signings have been very poor or he has fell out with them. The main problem is that we have never sorted the defence out properly. How long have we been crying out for a dominant centre half, a leader at the back to cajole and organise? I may get slated for this, but Page who has gone to Huddersfield could have done a job for us short term. I know it's a level down but they haven't conceded in 3 games since he joined.
