Right with you there, ESL. You have to be a little afraid of Legatissimo, but I'd defy anybody not to be impressed with CZ's Newbury win. Hopefully with the near certainty of further improvement to come she can go past Ryan's Moore's mount on the ratings. I've a suspicion that if Ryan had had a truly free hand he'd have been on the Stoute filly.
Miles clear on time and form, and soundly beat the second and third favourite last time out. Dare I say 'double star nap'?
My picks today. Epsom 2.00 Don't Be 15/2 2.35 Sennockian Star 13/2 3.45 Gratzie 7/1 5.50 Ticks the Boxes 8/1 Market Rasen 3.35 Figaro 7/1 4.10 Bowie 6/2 Catterick 4.45 Solar Spirit 8/1 5.20 Indego Blues 11/2 Any thoughts?
I backed Legatissimo - not seen the race yet but how the f**k has it beat all it's nearest market rivals but still lost to a 50/1 shot that was O'Brien's lowest rated horse of the 3 that he had in the race and it has finished nowhere in it's last 2 races before today?! #fix !
Very scrappy race considering the quality on show. 3 separate stewards enquiries I think. Legatissimo just beaten into 2nd by a nose. Qualify was about the only horse that wasn't hindered by another, clean run right through the middle of all the buffeting competitors.
Just my luck, a sodding 'nose' away - cost me a chuffing bomb that nose 'cos I had it doubled up with Arod as well as two singles
Well done with Gratzie, Ponty72! CZ didn't settle - end of; Legatissimo ran out of stamina. Couldn't see anything outside of those two plus Cumani's winning. But Aidan is phenomenal. Such a modest and courteous man, and a master trainer. 50/1 shakes your faith, but I can't see past Golkden Horn tomorrow. Outside of that, I can see Mark Johnston having a good day!
