4-4-2 Away from home doesn't work for us in my opinion.
We need an home tactic and an away tactic.
Go for it at Home ala Middlesbrough 4-4-2. Contain away from home and hope to hit teams on the break.

**** it, i'll be our manager.

4-5-1 didn't work for us last season away from home, so can't see it working this season.

People moaned that we sat back too much aswell.

We could always just play our best defenders and stop picking players based on them being Hills personal favourites who he has history with. Do that and we might not concede as many goals.

Wiseman needs giving to any club that will take him, Edwards the same. Foster needs transfer listing and hope that we can shift him and then we need to sign new defenders. Until that happens we are in trouble.

Fully agree. Keeping Edwards is pointless, Foster is okay as Back up, Wiseman just needs giving away. Collins? Most pointless transfer ever?

I've said all along that defence needed to be a priority this summer and Hill has done next to nothing to strengthen it. Foster and Hassell are past it, Edwards is permanently injured and Wiseman just isn't good enough at this level. McNulty lacks concentration and Collins hasn't ever been given a chance to prove himself at all.
I don't think we are combative enough in midfield either tbh, which doesn't help an already weak back four. Two away games against hardly the strongest sides does not bode well for the rest of the season. I certainly don't intend travelling to many away games until we show a bit more backbone.
I agree that we may have to play different systems for home and away matches. Maybe one way could be a 5 3 2 away from home. Stones, Wiseman and Golbourne do possess the pace to play as wing backs. It might not work but we certainly have to try something a bit different because it clearly isn't working at present.
