Disgraceful. The FA need to grow a set of balls.

    I forgot about them.

There's also William and Luke Remy. How stupid of me.

Why does it matter? Surely having better players from other countries is better than 22 english blokes who are *****?

Of course it matters, it restricts the opportunities for home grown players. This is exactly why England will continue to fail miserably.

But aren't the home grown players simply playing at other clubs?

I don't think it does, personally. If the English players just aren't good enough, what can you do? It's a case of lack of English players causing the income of foreign players, not the other way around, IMO.

    England have always been rubbish.

The 'blame the foreigners' argument is a red herring.

I'm 36, and the best they've done in my lifetime is a World Cup semi-final: the same as Turkey, Sweden and Croatia.

There weren't many foreigners in English football when the national team failed to qualify for two successive World Cups in the 1970s.

We'll never know if they're good enough if they're overlooked for an import instead.

It's not even a lack of English players, its that the majority of good young English players choose to take the money to sit on the bench at big clubs than to continue their development at smaller clubs on lower wages.

Their managers will, though. They see them in training every day, don't forget.

This is where the loan system comes into its own, and young English players get the chance to prove themselves in games.

Training and match days are completely different though. Mourinho has sat there all week and played down the Community Shield, obviously he wants to win it, but 2 only name 2 English players in his whole squad is a disgrace in my opinion.
